Fantastic Result For Speedway Family

press release

Every now and then in clubs and organizations, special results are often achieved by individuals or by team members.

At round 4 of the New South Wales Speedway Kart Club held on Sunday the 17th of May at the Nepean Motorsport Complex one of these special moments was placed into the clubs history books.

The NSWSKC is a family orientated motorsport club that conducts speedway kart meetings on average once a month and on this day one family achieved what can only be describe as something quite special - tThe Baines family who race with the club have 3 drivers being Dad Wayne, Mum Alana and 12 year old son Jake (picured below), all competing in this year’s championship.

Wayne is the club president, current Clubman Heavy Club Champion, Overall Club Champion and is competing this year in the KT Modified Heavy class which he currently leads.

Alana is the current KT Modified Light Champion and is defending her title this year and Jake is learning his craft in the Rookie class.

Sunday the 17th will remain a special day for this trio because Alana won 3 of her four races, one being the feature race, and received the overall points win for the class on the day. Jake won all four of his events including the feature race and again won his class overall points for the day. Wayne also won four out of four races and was the overall class points winner for the day.

To top off this already remarkable day, Wayne and Jake tied on points to win the Speedsport Media highest points scorers award of the day with Alana only two points behind them.

“It doesn’t get any better than this and I am so proud of my wife and son and our achievements today, this day will stay as a highlight of my kart racing” was Wayne’s comment when asked about how he felt about the result.

Speedway karting is a very competitive sport and continues to grow with race meeting now consisting of 90 plus drivers across 7 or 8 different classes regularly competing out at the Castlereagh based complex . Details for the club can be found at www.nswskc.com.au .

This result is a very special one and one that only comes across result sheets once in a blue moon and the Baines family should be very proud of themselves for this remarkable achievement.

The Baines’s will be next in action at the AKA Australian Speedway Kart Titles being held on the June long weekend and after Sunday’s results would have to be certainly one of the favorites in each of their classes  .

Alana, Wayne and Jake would like to quickly mention and thank their sponsors for all their support: Parramatta Kart Warehouse, Power Lease Race Engines, Hoppings Mowers, ST Signs, Killer Race Art and Ian Baker, Paul Connolly, Craig Ford and Tim Baker.
