Terry Cobb Joins Doyle's Racing Kartsport

press release

21yo Burpengary Graphic Designer Terry Cobb this week announced that he will join the Yatala based Doyle's Racing Kartsport Team for the upcoming 2009 Queensland State Open Bitumen Sprint Karting Championships.

The 2005 Senior National Light Queensland and NSW State Champion will compete under a slightly modified green / blue Doyle's Racing livery, in both the Senior National Light and Senior National Heavy classes at Gympie in the July Title meeting.

“Terry’s 2 entries will bring our Team up to 9 Karts for the State Titles and give our partners added exposure,” said Team Manager, Craig Doyle, “Most importantly, he will also bring another facet of proven experience to our team.  It’ll be great to see him behind the wheel and together with 11yo Mitchell Gee (competing for DRK in both Junior National Light and Heavy); we should have some terrific representation in the Yamaha J classes at the Titles.”

“I’m looking forward to being a part of the Team in Gympie,” said 2007 Aussie Racing Car driver, Cobb. “The deal I’ve struck with Craig will see Cobbco Fabrications remain as my principle sponsor, but my Arrow karts will be decked out in the DRK blue/green livery and carry all of their partners’ brands as well.  Having driven last year for Rodger Korzeniewski in the stand alone All Japan Karting Qualifier and knowing the Greenwood family, the DRK team is full of familiar faces.”

Not to be out done by their Yamaha J team mates, the 4 man DRK Clubman Heavy Team of Brendan Nelson, James Greenwood, Robbie Beetham and Rodger Korzeniewski are also keen to do well at the State Titles. Brendan Nelson will also tackle the very competitive Leopard Light class in the Team’s livery.

With between 420 and 450 entries expected for the 2009 Queensland State Open Bitumen Sprint Karting Championships, the Cooloola Coast Kart Club is already well underway with event preparations. A "shake down meeting" will be held on Saturday 6th June & Sunday 7th June 2009 to identify any outstanding issues before the July 3-5, Titles get underway.
