CIK Series Hits The Track At Pro Tour

press release

The return of the Australian CIK Championships is shaping as a tense battle with numerous competitors in with a shot, despite Hayden McBride being dominant in two of three heats today.

The event also saw the return of the Australian CIK Championships using the KF2 engine. Newcastle karter, Hayden McBride dominated the first two heats, however a technical problem ensured Mitch Cunningham took the win in heat three. Cunningham was the victim of a malfunction in heat two, when his chain came adrift.

South Australian, Tyson Pearce was rapid in his Omega Kart – his battles with Cunningham a real highlight.

Damien Radosevic showed he is quick – but just needs track position – setting the fastest lap in all three races. Simon Roberts is coming to grips with the CIK style of racing well and with the laps under his belt today is well placed for tomorrow’s pre-final and final.

Tomorrow will see the Pre-Finals and Finals. The event is being conducted at Newcastle Kart Racing Club’s Mount Sugarloaf Raceway.
