Horsepower Heaven - The Most Powerful Karting Event Of The Year!

The Bel Ray Oils and Lubricants 2009 Formula 100 Nationals and the Remo Racing Toyota Leopard Grand Final Shootout will now be run together on October 31/November 1 at the Go Kart Club Of Victoria's VACC Park circuit.

F100 is an AKA National Championship class while Leopard is the annual Grand Final Shootout with massive prizes, including a brand new car. These two categories are more than enough to draw the crowds to the fence, but how about this - 200 Supers and 125 Shifter karts are set to join the action!

The 200cc monsters will be a combination of open class Supers (reed or rotary valve engines) and Twin Clubmans. Word is there are several drivers coming from interstate (these classes still run in WA and Tasmania) and some of the locals are dusting off moth-balled karts. Some are even getting new chassis constructed! The 125 Gearbox class is for KZ2/ICC machines and here too, many karts that have been placed in storage are set to return to the racetrack.

"This meeting will be the performance show piece of Australian Karting" Dominic Albanese informed KartSportNews. "There will be entertainment, grid girls and displays that will compliment the event."

The classes to run will be as follows. Supp Regs and further details in due course.

  • Formula 100 Light @ 150 kgs on MG Yellow Tyres  -  National Championship
  • Formula 100 Heavy @ 170 kgs on MG Yellow Tyres – Status pending
  • Leopard Light @ 160 kgs on MG Yellow Tyres – Leopard Final
  • Leopard Heavy @ 180 kgs on MG Yellow Tyres – Leopard Final
  • Formula 200 Super @ various weights depending on engine type – MG Yellow Tyres
