IKD Statement About AKA Minutes

There has been some confusion in karting circles regarding the recent rulings by the AKA National Karting Council and the currently published committee minutes and their impact in Rotax.

The minutes of the Technical Committee have been published and certain decisions made by that committee and referenced in the minutes are the recommendations of the committee to the NKC. The National karting Council makes the rules for the sport; the various committees’ make recommendations to the council for final determination.

The information previously released by IKD in reference to the new Rotax CNC cylinders is correct. The recommendations made by the technical committee regarding the new cylinders were not taken up by the NKC and an alternate decision was taken and implemented.
