Azzurro Changes Owner & Location

Azzurro karts has changed hands. The iconic Australian manufacturer, which has long lasting roots in Queensland and more recently NSW, was purchased by Steven Petrakis last week and has relocated to Melbourne.

Now based in the suburb of Oakleigh, the company is set to release a new model in August.

“What we want to achieve with Azzurro is reliability, service and high standards in quality” Steve informed KartSportNews. “We are not here to break into the market as this company has been around for over 25 years. We just want to offer another quality Australian made product.”

The manufacture of components will continue at Zedtec in Queensland with assembly and distribution of the karts based in Melbourne. “We will be releasing a new look chassis, the Azzurro R8, hopefully before the end of next month” he said. “We also want to give any existing or past Azzurro owners confidence that backup and parts support will return to a high standard after a time of neglect in the past.”

Steve has been involved in business for most of his life. “The most important key to success is honesty and service. Why have I purchased Azzurro Karts? The amount of interest shown from the previous owners, plus the quality of engineering. And besides, we should all be buying Australian made products.”
