PKE2010 INDOOR ARENA MINI-ENDURO IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR ONLINE TEAM REGISTRATION

With such strong demand, we have opened the team registration for the Indoor Arena Mini-Enduro scheduled for Friday, February 5, 2010. The online registration form is now available on the www.PKE2010.com website.

As the first arena enduro race of its kind for indoor karting, this promises to kick off PKE2010 weekend events with a big bang. With an expanding list of sponsors and exhibitors, the 4400 stadium seats will fill up fast on Friday evening to watch top drivers from around the country as they compete for $5000.00 in cash prize money.

The format of 3-person teams will race a total of 180 laps, with drivers handling 60 laps each. The twelve teams to make it to the finals will have worked their way from a total of 48 entries. A full series of heats will take place during the day on Friday. PKE2010 attendees can follow each team’s progress as the indoor arena is directly adjacent to the exhibit floor.

The karts will be brand new 4-cycle gas driven machines with factory support. None of the drivers will have ever driven these karts and the track will also be an unknown for every competitor.

Tom Godfrey, founder of the Indoor Kart Racing League is the Race Director and has authored the complete rules book which can be downloaded from the PKE2010 site. Teams must have the official blessing of the indoor track they represent and no more than two teams can come from a single facility.

Team entry fees have been set at a low $175.00 from now until the end of November. On December 1 the entry fee will climb to $200.00. Hotel accommodations are available at the South Point with special show rates for midweek and weekends. Arrangements have also been made for deluxe RV campground spots within minutes of the hotel.

The Indoor Arena Mini-Enduro will be promoted locally as a major Las Vegas Strip evening event and everyone is invited to attend for a single event ticket price of $8.00. There will be a selection of concession stands including the Hot Pit Lounge with VIP seating overlooking the track.

All PKE2010 attendees will have unlimited access to the arena for the single ticket price of $12.00 for the weekend. Those wishing to enter the pits, seek trackside education and driving demonstrations, or get behind the wheel of a demo kart will need the $19.00 all access weekend pass. The WKA will be the overall event insurance provider, covering both indoor and outdoor competition and exhibitions.

Indoor Karting Facilities Are Planning Major Support for PKE2010
“This is a major event for us and we would not miss it for the world,” said Matthew Wilson of Velocity Indoor Karting, Omaha, Nebraska. Matt went on to say, “We have been working hard to demonstrate the competitiveness of indoor racing and how many of the outdoor crowd have come to respect the skills required to be a leader on concrete and in such tight quarters. Many of our outdoor karters have said they can see an improvement in their skills from what they have picked up indoors. PKE2010 will allow both indoor and outdoor karters to demonstrate their abilities to each other and we plan to be there in full force.”

With the PKE2010 being the kickoff for a month long celebration of motorsports in Las Vegas, the culmination will be the Las Vegas 400 NASCAR race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on February 28, 2010. The convention and visitors bureau expects to see a tremendous increase in motorsports enthusiasts lapping the strip all during the month.

The special treat for PKE2010 attendees is the NFL’s “Big Game” as two best teams in the world will kick off at the end of the exhibition on Sunday! With the massive parties, celebrities and giant viewing screens, Las Vegas has become one of the leading destinations for this annual sporting event.

Like all of the weekend’s events, RaceFanRadio.com and SpeedcastTV.com will be streaming live coverage on both Internet radio and TV to a worldwide audience.
