TEKA NSW Championship Heads to Lithgow after Oran Park 5 Hour Success

press release

Late last month’s running of the fifth round of The Endurance Karting Association (TEKA) NSW Championship, the ‘Oran Park 5 Hour’, resulted in the ‘Class A’ winning honours going to the # 35 W.A.R Racing team and now the sixth round heads to the Lithgow Kart Track on Sunday, August 23.

In ‘Class A’ it was a sensational battle between # 35 W.A.R Racing and # 49 Mariners Racing teams. With little separating the pair throughout the ‘Oran Park 5 Hour’ it was only for a muffler problem in the latter stages with the # 49 Mariners Racing team that robbed them of a better chance of victory. Eventually the Mariners Racing team finished in second place, while third place was by an impressive # 42 Blind Men Racing team. Consistency was certainly the key to Blind Men Racing team’s first podium finish of the year.

Continuing on with their success so far this year in the NSW Championship; ‘Class B’ front runners # 41 GTS Racing dominated proceedings in their respective class. The GTS Racing team were far too strong for their closest rivals in second and third place finishers # 76 Grumpy Mongrels Racing and # 26 Dodgy Boys Racing. Both Grumpy Mongrels Racing and Dodgy Boys Racing teams were thrilled with their results and they are improving with each and every round.

The # 9 Buildline Racing team were able to go one spot better than their last round result by taking out the round honours in the Briggs & Stratton (B&S) class. Returning to form was the # 17 Baby Bonus Racing team who finished in second place on the podium while finishing in third place on the podium was # 30 XLR8 Racing. One of the hard luck stories to come out of the B&S class battle was that of the # 27 Dynamite Racing team. They were right up there in contention for a podium finish only to be struck down by throttle issues, which cost them a total of 30 minutes as they had to make an unscheduled pit stop in order to fix the drama.

On Sunday, August 24 the Lithgow Kart Track will play host to the sixth round of the TEKA NSW Championship and it is certainly going to be interesting to see who comes out on top in the respective classes. The format for this round of the NSW Championship will be two 2 Hour races.

With only three rounds of the TEKA NSW Championship remaining, the class overall honours are all still up for grabs. However, time is running out and the teams that have their sights on success will need to get a move on up the field.
