4-Hour TaG + 1-Hour Junior-J Enduros For Tassie

press release

Launceston Kart Club has announced that they will again run a four hour endurance race on the 21st of November under a 125cc Tag format. As with last years successful event, the club will run a lead up one hour single endurance race for Junior J at 130kg. This year's sponsor is again the Riverview Hotel where presentations will be held afterwards.

The senior race will be open to TAG 125 with MG Yellows and Dunlop KTW6 wets. There will be an option for TaG restricted to run with the Open TaG class on a first in first served entry basis until a capacity grid. Preference will be given to Open Tag.

Last years event was highly successful and this year should be no exception with some modifications. The start will be single file rolling start from behind the safety kart. There will be a lucky dog NASCAR style restart, after each safety kart, where the first kart not on the lead lap gets a free pass.

There are three compulsory 12 minute pit stops to allow for driver changes along with unscheduled 6 minute stops. There are no engine number limitations and one complete set of tyres (with a 50% worn front and rear) as allowed spares. Live timing is available to each pit shelter and the public to ensure everone knows everyone's position.

Junior J will be a single driver event with one 12 minute compulsory stop. It is planed that the juniors will get underway at 10am with the senior race at 11.30am.

Race control this year will have communication with the safety kart which should allow for a better understanding of restarts and control of the “Lucky Dog”.

Supplementary Regulations should be available soon.
