NSW Speedway Kart Titles Looming Large

AKA press release

The Gosford Showgrounds in Central New South Wales will come alive to the sound of roaring kart engines next weekend (September 19/20) with the NSW State Speedway Kart Titles being contested at the venue.

Hosted by the Central Coast Speedway Kart Club, which celebrated 10 years in 2008, the Titles are expected to attract many of the top line speedway karters from across the State.

The youngest drivers in action across the weekend will be in the Rookies class, for competitors – both boys and girls – aged between 10 and 12 years of age. Some of the names expected to figure prominently in this category include Corey Foyle, Joel Middlemass, Amy Shute and Kristopher Johnson. Also competing at the Titles will be Nikki and Ashleigh Briton, grand daughters of five-time Australian Super Modified Champion Dick Briton, in the Junior Light and Heavy classes.

The Senior categories being contested at the Titles include the Clubman Light and Heavy along with a Ladies class and for the more experienced in life – Clubman Over 40s.

The fastest category set to take to the Gosford dirt track on next weekend will be the Formula 100/Sportsman and the KT Modified Light and Heavy drivers are also expected to dish up some exciting action.

Apart from the serious racing, there will also be a vintage karting display and demonstration on Sunday September 20. Camping will be permitted at the track on both Friday and Saturday with full facilities available.
