Fathers Day At Nepean Speedway

In front of a big crowd the New South Wales Speedway Kart Club staged another sensational race meeting at the Nepean Motorsports complex last Sunday September 5.

The Fathers Day meeting sponsored by Wescranes saw 82 of the best speedway karts hitting the track for the Nepean Nationals round 7 in the 2009 NSWSKC championship series.

While Kyle Angel took out the Midgets feature race, the heats were dominated by James Peters with the talented racer winning all three races dedicating his round win to his sick mum Jayne.

The Rookies certainly turned the action on last Sunday with Jordyn Brazier taking out the first heat before Jake Baines took control winning the other heat races as well as the feature.

The heats wins were shared by Kyle Pollock (2 wins) and Nikki Briton while Reagan Angel took out the Junior division feature race. Nikki Briton with her consistent performances took out the round.

The Clubman Light saw heats being won by Nathan Bailey, Stephen Coughlan and David Boyd with Nathan Bailey also taking out the feature race.

It was a Daniel Selmes day in the Clubman Heavy ranks with the racer dominating the division winning all three heats, feature and of course the round. Racing in his second meeting P plate driver Stephan Richards was second to Selmes with David Cochran third in the round points tally.

In the KT Open Light, the heat winners were shared by Brent Coghlan (2 wins) and Michael Brett with Brent Coghlan continuing his winning ways in taking out the feature and the round victories.

The premier division Formula 100 and Jonathan Bright the former NSWSKC Champion was too strong in winning all three heats, the feature and the round with Nathan Bailey and Donald Stevens completing the top three in the round.

The NSWSKC returns to the Nepean Motorsports complex on Sunday October 18th with a very special day the inaugural Darley Day meeting.

The Nepean Motorsports complex is situated on Rickards Road Castlereagh with racing starting at 10am.
