NKA Super Series' Debut In Canberra

press release

The Fairbairn Park Kart Track, near Canberra in the ACT, hosted its very first round of the National Kart Alliance (NKA) Super Kart Series last Saturday (September 12) and it resulted in some very entertaining racing and one of the biggest fields of competitors for the year.

A number of the Canberra Kart Club competitors supported the NKA Super Series round and it resulted in strong fields in all of the Junior and Senior classes.

In the Junior classes it was Isaac Vaccarella that cleaned up proceedings in the Midget and Rookie combined class and he took out the victory spoils in the final by outpacing Alex Nicholson and Sean Shibutare. Brad Jones was the cream of the field in the Junior National and Junior Clubman combined class and won the final ahead of David Jolly and Bryce Davidson.

Joshua Tanti in the Seniors was at his dominant best in the Senior National and Senior Clubman combined class by winning all three heat races and then the final. In the final Tanti downed Rod Henry-Smith and Alan Charlton.

The biggest field of the round was TAG Red and David Sultana came through in the final to take out the winning spoils. Sultana didn’t have the strongest of runs during the heat races, starting the final out of position five, but he got it together for when it mattered most and took out the victory ahead of Mitchell and Steven Bink.

Greg Moore won all three of his heat races and then the final in the TAG Super Heavy and Over 40s combined class. Moore in the final finished in front of Joe Gauci and Peter Mills in second and third place on the podium.

Former ProKart Australia Super Sprint 4’s champion Brendan Long was joined on the podium by fellow Super Sprint 4’s competitors by Kyle Paterson and Dylan Tennyson when he won the TAG Yellow final.

The Open Performance class resulted in Dean Starling upsetting the form guide by winning the final. Starling, who hadn’t recorded a win in any of his heat races leading up to the final, was in fine form during the final and defeated highest qualifier Nic Crawshay in second and Jeremy Maple in third place on the podium.

This was the sixth and final round of the NKA Super Series for the year.

The next event for the NKA Super Series competitors will be the NKA Nationals that is to be held at Wollongong City Raceway on Saturday, November 28.
