Ryan Luke Update

Brisbane driver Ryan Luke has been moved from the Intensive Care Unit into a General Ward as he continues to recover from the injuries sustained during  to the Rookies final at the 2009 New South Wales State Championships at Oran Park Raceway on Sunday.

After having his first meal last night Luke has maintained his forward progress and even walked a few steps this afternoon.  He will remain in hospital for a period of time as Doctors continue to monitor any possible neck or back injuries, however, at this stage he is expected to make a full recovery.

The Australian Karting Association would like to thank the karting community for their support for the Luke family.

The Ipswich Kart Club has started an appeal by contributing $500.00 to help the Luke family with mountain of associated expenses while Luke is in Hospital. If you would like to help the Luke family and fellow karter please donate what you can at any Bendigo Bank to:
