City Of Adelaide Precursor To State Titles

AKA press release

South Australian karters will get their final opportunity to shape up ahead of next month’s State Championships when they take to the Bolivar Raceway for the City of Adelaide Titles this weekend.

The City of Adelaide Titles is one of the longest running blue ribbon events in Australian karting and is expected to attract in excess of 175 drivers from various parts of the state and across the border.

The youngest drivers, in the Midgets category aged between 7 and 10 years, will reach speeds of up to 80 km/h around the 861-metre circuit.

With 24 drivers lining up on the grid the Rookies class, for drivers aged between 10 and 12 years of age, will provide some of the most exciting action of the weekend.

Second-generation racer Tyler Morrison (pictured, photowagon.com.au) won last year’s City of Adelaide crown in the Midgets category. This year he will start as one of the favourites for the Rookies crown against the likes of fellow South Aussies Rhys Wooley, Jake Cole and Josh Angus. There are also a number of interstate competitors in the Rookies class including Jake Dixon, Jake Klien and Andreas Chronis.

At the other end of the scale is the Clubman Over 40’s division where some drivers are nudging, and sometimes exceeding, 60 years of age. For these competitors the sport provides them with an opportunity to continue to enjoy the thrills of motorsport at an affordable level.

In total there will be 15 categories in action, all catering for different ages, weights and engine capacities.

The Bolivar Raceway is located on Summer Road, Bolivar. Racing will be held from 9am on both Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free for spectators.
