The GPO series finished magnificently for Sodi Racing Team (SRT), with the brilliant victories by Anthony Abbasse in KZ2 and Loïc Reguillon in KF2, at the last round of the French Championship. The weekend in Lyons offered yet another chance to highlight the value of karters racing with Sodi chassis, who monopolised at least 5 podiums and -icing on the cake - conquered the much coveted title of French Constructors' Title in KZ2, the top category of the Championships.

Anthony Abbasse Plays the Master!
One week after triumphing at the Monaco Kart Cup, the "Sodi Drivers" continued to harvest success. "I finished the GPO series exactly as I started it. With a victory!", Anthony Abbasse commented enthusiastically. "I gained the Super Pole on Sunday morning and I had another excellent performance in the final race, when I overtook and then kept at bay Norman Nato during the whole race. Thanks to the points I scored, I could wear the crown of French vice champion". The SODI ST32 BV chassis also proved to be highly competitive against karters such as Pierre Ragues, Eric Ramon and Mathias Gallepe, as well as with different motorisations, and that is how the French brand won the French Constructors' Championship of 2009 GPOs!

Loïc Réguillon On the Verge of a Feat in KF2...
Although he arrived in Lyons with just a few points, Loïc turned things around with a second place in the French Championship, just 9 points behind Sébastien Bailly, out of the 1,540 distributed during the year! With his staggering performance during the weekend, Loïc stamped his authority on the event. "I was not master of my destiny", Loïc pointed out. "The only thing I had done before was to win the last race and hope that my rivals did not score too many points. During the two racing days, my Sodi-Parilla was perfect, even though the weather changed on Sunday morning. And finally, I am happy I could finish my weekend and the GPO season with a victory".

In KF3, Pierre Gasly made it to the podium again. A sort of habit for him, at this end of season, after his third place at the World Cup. "With my Sodi chassis, I won a lot of races in Mini and then in the Cadet category, and I don't see why that should stop, given the stunning competitiveness of the equipment. I really feel I can continue that way in 2010", concluded Pierre, who is getting ready, together with his team mates, to end the season in a few day's time in Las Vegas, at the "USA Supernationals XIII".

A few comments by Nicola De Cola, SODI RACING TEAM's team manager
"Our sporting season is not over yet, but we can already draw a very positive assessment of 2009. We achieved those excellent results thanks to the extraordinary competitiveness of our equipment. The SODI ST32 was the perfect choice for our drivers. In Rotax, Endurance, KZ2, KF2 as well as in KF3, it emerged at all levels. In Lyons, the Sodi Racing Team wanted to conclude the GPO series in beauty, and that's exactly what it did! On behalf of the whole team, I would like to say how proud I am that we conquered the French Constructors' Title in KZ2, because it is a success that rewards the SODI Team directly".
