AKA press release

Treseder has confirmed that he will be on the grid to challenge for the Pro Gearbox(KZ2) Championship in the rejuvenated series.

“I was getting to the point where I was getting burnt out from racing but more so racing the same type of racing, spending a week away four or five times per year to race at state and national titles was very tiring and I was thinking about hanging up the helmet,” said Treseder.

“All of this went out the window a couple of months ago when I heard the Pro Gearbox was going to be run in conjunction with the CIK Stars of Karting Series.

“The last time I raced CIK was back in 2000 but haven’t even sat in a gearbox kart before so it is all a new challenge but one I am really looking forward to.”

To ensure he is fully prepared for next year’s championship has already started an intense fitness campaign and purchased a brand new Australian-made Arrow kart that will be powered by a TM engine.

“I’m working pretty hard to shed a few kilo’s and get into shape as I’m expecting the racing to be pretty physical,” said Treseder, who will be supported in his campaign by Kel’s Karts and Parts.

“My kart landed in Bundaberg last week and my engines are due to arrive shortly, as soon as I get it all together I will be out to get my head around how to drive the six-speed gearbox monster before the opening round in Newcastle.”
