Competing in four junior classes, Neri overcame disappointing finishes in Saturday’s prefinals to salvage two podium results but dominated the Komet Piston Port Junior Lite and Yamaha Junior Heavy classes on Sunday to take the double win.

After qualifying in the top ten for both the Komet Piston Port Junior Heavy and Yamaha Junior Lite classes, Neri had some tough luck in the prefinals. A turn one incident in the Yamaha division set up an 18th place finish and an outside ninth row starting spot for the main event.

After a strong run in the Komet Piston Port Junior Heavy class, where he claimed a second place result, Neri was set for the challenge in the Yamaha class. With a great start and opening lap, Neri quickly moved forward and was in the top ten very early in the race. Looking to gain as many positions as possible and score valuable championship points, Neri dominated the field as he scored the fastest race lap on his way to finishing a solid fourth.

Sunday was a very strong day for the young Floridian as he dominated the junior divisions. Taking the pole position and fast time awards in both Komet Piston Port Lite and Yamaha Junior Heavy, Neri was well on his way to a perfect day. The afternoon sessions saw the Ocala Gran Prix pilot take both the prefinal wins, main event victories and score the fastest race laps in both finals.

“This weekend was a very good start to the 2010 season and towards our goal of championships,” expressed Tony Kart driver Nick Neri. “Consistency and strong results is what wins championships, and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season.”

Next on the docket for Nick Neri will be the opening rounds of the Florida Winter Tour. Competing in Rotax Pro on the first weekend, Neri will shift his focus on weekend two as he looks to make it back to the Rotax World Finals by claiming the championship in Rotax Junior.

Nick Neri would like to thank his all of his 2010 supporters: Ocala Gran Prix, Tony Kart Florida, Josh Power, High Rev Engineering, Alpinestars, SKF Bearings, Grand Products, Bridgestone and Race Tech Development.
