Wet Welcome Back At Wollongong

The Wollongong Kart Racing Club would like to thank all those who competed on Sunday the 14/02/10, and in particular all those people who offered their services to officiate or volunteer.  Without them the day would not have happened.  To all those officials who stood in the rain all day to make this meeting happen was a tremendous response to the esteem that people hold of the circuit and its members of the club. 

To the management of Wollongong City Raceway, we thank them for offering their club house for race entries, and presentation.  We also thank them for the BIG Welcome Home sign displayed at the front gate.

To all the competitors, 117 entries, we thank you for turning out in the miserable conditions, but trust you enjoyed the days event and the way in which racing was conducted.

As for the rain, the club committee had everything they could think of in place, but they couldn't control the inclement weather.  The rain gods weren't on our side.  It really put a 'dampener' on the presentation, and we apologise for such a short presentation, but it was understandable that people were wet and cold and just wanted to get home.  Some had traveled up to 3 hours to be at our meeting.

Again thanks to each and every person that played a part in making our first race back at Wollongong a great success.
