Starting grid for the WSK fifth year. There is less than one month to go before the first 2010 WSK karting meeting. From March 4th to 7 th, the opening of the WSK Euro Series is scheduled at La Conca International Circuit in Muro Leccese (Lecce, Italy) with the first of 2010 five rounds. Consisting of five events in four months, the championship will round off on the circuit Napoli in Sarno (Salerno, Italy), on June 6th.

The WSK Euro Series opens the show at La Conca. The European tour for this year, by tradition, is planned to kick off in Muro Leccese where already from Monday, March 1st to Wednesday 3rd it is scheduled a session of collective tests representing an important early approach to the championship. That in La Conca will be then a full speed week coming to a close with the final races on Sunday, March 7th.

Eligible karts. All the international karting classes are entering the event in Muro Leccese: from KF2 and KF3, being the training classes for rising young drivers to the top class Super KF. The only shifter categories, namely KZ2 and KZ1, will be present as well. KZ1 in particular, is going to make its debut on a WSK championship just at La Conca.

The protagonists. Three weeks before the start, the provisional entry list counts over 250 drivers. It records well 24 chassis manufacturers and 11 engine producers, representing all together the best karting experts: Birel, BRM, CRG, DR, Energy, Exprit, FA Kart, Gillard, GP Racing, Haase, Intrepid, Jesolo, Kosmic, Lenzo Kart, Maddox, Maranello, Parolin, PCR, RK, Sodi, SwissHutlless, Tony Kart, Top Kart and Zanardi are the chassis manufacturers in addition to the engine producers BMB, CRS; LKE, Maranello, Maxter, Parilla, SGM, TM, VKR, VM, Vortex.

Also the world’s strongest teams are ready for the challenge: these teams are managed separately from the Manufacturers’ official teams and the promising young drivers the team managers discover following their “nose” are equipped with the most upgraded material. Belgian CRG Junior Team, Dutch AVG Racing, CRG Holland, PDB Racing team and Keijzer Racing, English JRP Energy Junior Team, Ricky Flynn Motorsport, Tony Kart Junior Racing Team and Ward Racing, Spanish Equipo Jankart Tenerife and Sportkart Vendrell, Italian MGM Racing, Formula K, Morsicani Racing, Imparato Motorsport, Emilia Kart,  Gandolfi Racing and Jolly Team, Swedish Italsport, French Tony Kart France, Intrepid France and Ludoracing, Finnish Kohtala Sports, Russian Team Komarov, Czech Hagemann Racing and Orion Racing Team as well as Bulgarian Sofia Auto Racing Team rank among the leading teams that are going to liven up the multicoloured paddock in the WSK Euro Series.

Champions at the start. Among the drivers registered in the WSK Euro Series, there are many boasting a previous WSK title or a World and European one in their record of achievements. In the top classes Super KF and KZ1, French Arnaud Kozlinski, Italian Marco Ardigò, Sauro Cesetti, Davide Forè, Angelo Lombardo, Roberto Toninelli and Matteo Viganò, Belgian Jonathan Thonon and Yannick de Brabander, Dutch Bas Lammers and Nick De Vries and English Ben Cooper stand out. In all, there are 40 national flags representing four Continents.
