Johnston Combines Sprintcars with Sprint Karts

Rotax Pro Tour I winner, Max Johnston, has kept himself busy between karting events by taking to the wheel of an 800+hp sprintcar.

Johnston made his debut in the speedway category five weeks ago at Paramatta City Raceway. Best result so far in the Fincar Finance / Sparco sponsored car is 5th in the B-Main. Max made it into the field for the A-Main for the first time last weekend, only to have the engine fail on lap 13 while holding 14th position in the 50 lap final.

Johnston has been competing in karting since the age of 7 and continues to race Rotax Light and DD2 in various state championships and the Pro Tour events. He will continue to run the Rotax classes for 2010 and plans to start the new sprintcar season at the end of the year.

Max has been approched by speedway promoters Rod Bowen and Gary Rush to promote the winged-warriors to karters as an option other than Formula Ford, Aussie Legends etc.
