ProKart Considering Victorian Endurance Series

ProKart Australia is looking at running a Victorian Endurance Championship series next year and are calling for expressions of interest from potential teams.

The organisation is contemplating a five round championship in the first year (2011) before expanding to eight rounds in 2012.

The races are typically a minimum of 6 hours with teams consisting of between two and four drivers. 12-hour races might involve up to six drivers per team.

Due to the high mileage nature of the events, ProKart machines are very different to standard sprint kart chassis. They run two 6.5 horsepower Honda engines in a factory supplied and sealed condition. A number of items are standardised, such as control Dunlop wet and dry tyres, axle length, axle diameter, brake system and gearing.

ProKart Australia currently runs New South Wales and Queensland state championships, along with an Australian Championship.

People interested in fielding a team for a Victorian series should contact ProKart Australia before June 1. Based on the response, Prokart will make an announcement regarding a state championship by June 30.
