King of Sydney, Round 3

There were 22 Over 40 'J starters at Eastern Creek last Sunday. It was shaping up to be a great day of racing.

Heat 1 – John Horsburgh & Gerald Chait pulled away from the rest of the field. Chait gained the lead on the last lap to take the win from Horsburgh then Brian Sciberras.

Heat 2 – Anthony Borg lead early. Iain Thornton took the lead on lap 2 and drove away from the field to take the win. Andrew Goodall put in a great drive to finish second, Sciberras finished third.

Pre Final – Chait & Sciberras made an early break. They had a great battle all race. Chait left the door open on the last corner to let Sciberras take the lead & win. Thornton passed Goodall on the last lap to get third.

The Final was shaping up to be a great race. Sciberras, Thornton gapped the field early. Chait was coming through the field after a bad start but unfortunately he received the meat ball flag for a missing nose cone. The lead changed throughout the race with Thornton taking command with 4 laps remaining until the last corner when Sciberras pushed Thornton wide to take the win.
