The Seras Go Tin-top Racing

Karting cousins James and David Sera have put roofs over their heads.

James made his race car debut aboard a thunderous Chev-powered Saab Sports Sedan at Mallala on the weekend. Sera impressed car owner Dean Randle with his speed, claiming three second placings and almost the Clem Smith Cup if not for a minor spin in the second race. DPE’s Darren Hossack won the event.

More on James’ tin-top (or should that be fibreglass-top in this case?) debut on speedcafe.com.au HERE.

Meanwhile, David, who tested a Jack Daniels V8 Supercar earlier this year, is set to make his tin-top race debut in a Commodore Cup car next month. Deadly is set to slot into the seat as co-driver with part-time karter Matthew Hayes - but the deal is subject to him gaining his full CAMS licence in time.

The duo will not be the only karters contesting the Commodore Cup enduro at Winton on 26/27 June. Hossack is set to join Cup regular (and another former karter) Nick Parker, while Shane Price is also looking at having a run.
