WSK Euro Opening Practice

press release

Crucial weekend in Sarno with timed practice today at the Circuito Internazionale Napoli, in the 5th and final round of the WSK Euro Series.

The Italian weekend heats up with French Armand Convers (Kosmic-Vortex-Vega), who signed the best time in Super KF in 1'04"901. Second was Italian Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega), ahead of his team-mate Gary Catt.

In KZ1 the best was Manuel Renaudie (PCR-TM-Dunlop), in 1'03"185, ahead of his countryman Jeremy Iglesias (Intrepid-TM-Dunlop) and Belgian Jonathan Thonon (CRG-Maxter-Dunlop).

In the other categories the best time in KZ2 was signed by Czech Jan Midrla (Birel-TM-Dunlop) French Enzo Guibbert (FA Kart-Vortex-Vega) in KF2 and Swedish Christian Sorensen (Birel-BMB-Dunlop) in KF3.

EuroCup and Drivers titles are at stake in Super KF. The present weekend closes a European series where both drivers and teams are chasing after season's crowing success at the Circuito Napoli. As for drivers, in the Super KF final challenge there will be Convers at the top of the ranking, above Dutch Nyck De Vries (Zanardi-Parilla) and Ardigò. In the EuroCup for teams, the final sprint will be between Kosmic Racing Dept. and Tony Kart Racing Team, seeing that there is only one-point gap between them. De Vries' team, namely Chiesa Corse is third and still in the running.

Final rush also in KZ1. In the other Top Class, that is KZ1, the leader Thonon and Dutch Bas Lammers (Intrepid-TM) at the second place are duelling for Drivers WSK title. The same situation is reversed in the EuroCup ranking with the relative teams Intrepid Driver Program and CRG Spa in the first two places above Tony Kart Racing Team.

De Conto and Energy Corse have already won KZ2. The only class already holding the champions is KZ2 where both Italian Paolo De Conto and his team Energy Corse have achieved victory a race ahead of time. Joka Team, Intrepid Driver Program and the team CRG Holland are contending for second place. Instead, the favourite for second position in Drivers ranking is Dutch Beitske Visser (Intrepid-TM).

KF2 and KF3 at the finishing post as well. Italian Ignazio D'Agosto (Tony-Vortex) is two steps away from the KF2 title though Danish Jacob Nortoft (FA Kart-Vortex) can still contend with him for it. Equally, in the EuroCup Tony Kart Racing Team has victory at hand thanks to a consistent lead over Tony Kart Junior Team. In KF3 on the contrary, Dutch Max Verstappen (CRG-Maxter) can defeat his main rival English Alex Albon (Intrepid-TM) by a narrow margin. In the EuroCup Intrepid Driver Program is going for success and the contest is with CRG Spa.
