Intrepid Replicates Euro Success in Australia

press release

Queensland drivers have taken top honours in their Intrepid machines at Round Three of the CIK Stars of Karting at Eastern Creek International Kart Raceway.

Competing in the Pro Gearbox (KZ2) class against the cream of Australian racers, including multiple state and national title winners, Intrepid racers achieved three top ten places, including 1st and 2nd. It was the first competitive outing for that particular Intrepid model in Australia, after racking up multiple podium finishes for the past year throughout Europe.

That success looks set to continue on Australian kart tracks with Sunshine Coast-based Kyle Ensbey taking 1st place and Tyler Greenbury 2nd in his Bolt Pro-Intrepid sponsored drive.

Ensbey received his new Intrepid direct from Italy on Tuesday before competition and spent Wednesday with Kaos Karting setting up his machine and bolting on his engine supplied by good mate, V8 Supercar driver Michael
Patrizi.

“It was an awesome result, with the total package coming together for me. Patriziʼs engine is from his karting days, so it is not the latest and greatest but combined with the Italian precision Intrepid kart, performed fastest lap times in
the lead up to the main game” said Ensbey.

The two other Intrepidʼs were piloted by the youngest on the track, including 17-year-old Tyler Greenbury and 16-year-old Hayden Jackson, in his first Senior class competition.

Toowoombaʼs Tyler Greenbury drove the orange machine to a second place finish on his debut in the Pro Gearbox class, edging out veteran Kel Treseder. “As a huge fan of the Intrepid Pro Gearbox machine, itʼs great to be able to provide Tyler, who is such a talented driver, the opportunity to experience racing at this level” said Brian Hicks from Bolt Pro Gold Coast, sponsor of the Bolt Pro Intrepid.

Young Gold Coaster Hayden Jackson stayed in the thick of it throughout the weekend, qualifying solidly in 8th but an unfortunate bad start in the Final relegated him to 10th spot by chequered flag.

“In Australia, the Intrepid karts are continuing to deliver exceptional results in all levels of competition from the top level racing such as CIK Stars of Karting through to club level” said Ken Bensley, importer and distributor of Intrepid
and Storm Karts in Australia.

Said Bensley in response to recent industry rumours, “one thing is for sure, Intrepid is here to stay.”
