Big Cash For Australian Superkart Grand Prix

Big prize money is being put up for grabs at the 44th running of the Australian Superkart Grand Prix at Mallala on November 7.

The Adelaide Superkart Club's Ian Williams informed KartSportNews that after giving away $1,500 in prizemoney to the 250 International class at last year's event, $1,500 prizemoney will now be offered to three competing classes at the event; namely 250cc International, and the Rotax MAX NGB Light and Heavy classes.

The event will run under CAMS and Williams is expecting to see the largest number of entries of any Superkart race meeting in 2010. Personalised GP Invitations will be posted to all CAMS Licenced Superkarters in Australia prior to the event, but the club would appreciate indication of support from interstate drivers and clubs to assist with planning.

The ASC Grand Prix Committee envisages that the event will be backed by radio advertising via a top rated station and local newspaper adverts. Prizemoney, prizes, trophies and commemorative medallions will be made available for both Gearbox and Non Gearbox Classes*.

The club has already received extremely enthusiastic support from local sponsors including Modbury Press, Northern Stationery Centre, Westech IT Solutions, Lofty Coaches, Ian Williams Tuning, Gawler & Barossa Land-scape Services and local drivers.

The ASC is endeavouring to make the 2010 Grand Prix the most affordable event on the Australian Superkart calendar and further sponsorship is being sourced to assist with minimising the cost to competitors.
