New Zealand's National Schools Championship

press release

Palmerston North Boys High School is the country's top KartSport school for the second time thanks to students Scott Blummont and Josh Drysdale.

The Manawatu school won the premier Secondary Schools category for the first time at the National Schools' Championship in Taranaki in 2005. And Blummont and Drysdale claimed it back from Christchurch's St Andrews College at this year's event, held over the weekend of 9th to 11th July 2010 in Nelson.

In the eight years that a National Schools' Championship has been contested the the Secondary Schools' title has been held by five schools, with Palmerston North Boys High School the latest school - joining Auckland's St Kentigern College and Christchurch's St Andrews College - to claim the title for a second time.

Class titles over the weekend went to Blummont (100cc Yamaha Light), Drysdale (Formula Junior and Junior 100cc Yamaha), Wise (Junior Restricted 100cc Yamaha), Daniel Connor (125cc Rotax Max Light) and Thomas Ingram (Cadet).
