Important News About The Rotax Rankings

press release

There has been a great deal of confusion surrounding the Rotax Rankings and the way in which they are calculated and accumulated year to year.

This confusion has become more apparent in the lead up to the 2010 Sparco Rotax Nationals.

As a result, IKD have decided to expire some of the 2009 events early. This decision was necessary in order to allow all 2010 competitors to have a clear picture of where they are placed in the Rankings before competing at the 2010 Sparco Rotax Nationals event.

Any events dated before 6th September 2009 will be expired immediately. The 2009 Rotax Nationals will also be expired immediately. These points would have expired by the cut off date for the Rotax Max Challenge World Final anyway, so the final positioning in the Rankings will be unaffected.

The new Rankings have been updated and made public.

You will notice some changes in the format of the Ranking reports.

  1. Any competitor that has a zero (0) points balance will now disappear from the reports. Once you begin earning points again, your name will automatically appear on the reports again.
  2. Rotax Racer Rewards will now appear on a separate report which you can also access from the Rotax website. This report appears in alphabetical order. Please note that if you race more than one class, the rewards balance on this report represents the total rewards from all your classes. The new Racer Rewards report has also been added and is available from the website today.

We are also adding the total number of events that contribute to your Ranking to the Ranking reports. This update will be released soon.

If you have any questions about your points, rewards or your Ranking please do not hesitate to contact IKD on (02) 4735 1344, send an email to samantha@internationalkarting.com or lodge an online enquiry via the website - www.rotax.com.au
