Saturday Night Series, Round 7

press release

With the Saturday Night Kart Series coming towards a close, the seventh round was fought out late last month at Wollongong City Raceway, near Kembla Grange on the South Coast of NSW, and the action certainly didn’t disappoint.

Throughout both the Junior and Senior classes there were plenty of hard thought battle, especially during the round deciding finals, and it has been something that has stood out during this year’s Saturday Night Series.

Although there were no double winners in any of the classes, there were two drivers that came very close to achieving that feat.

In the Seniors, Chad Horsley won the final in the TAG Red Light class ahead of Aaron Cogger and Roland Ward and then in the biggest class of the round, Clubman Light, he ended up finishing third in the final behind winner John McMaster and second placed Nick Kellie.

Youngster Ryan Suter may not have taken out victory in either of his classes but he came close. Suter finished second in the final for Junior Performance behind winner Jack Bennett and in third place was Luke Oppio, while in the Junior National class final it was another second place this time behind Jonathon Gauci and ahead of third placed Alexandra Lawona.

In the other Saturday Night Series classes, the winners of the respective finals consisted of: Corey Emr (Senior National), Shane Tate (TAG Red Light), Arvin Dhawaj (TAG Super Heavy), Glenn Quinlan (TAG Over 50s), Michael Johnston (TAG Red Heavy), Daniel Smith (TAG 100), Leigh Wright (100cc Performance), Benn Jeffrey (Clubman Heavy), Cody Gillis (Rookies), Jacque Isarin (Midgets) and Kyle Henry-Smith (Junior Clubman).

The seventh round Saturday Night Kart Series at Wollongong City Raceway is going to be fought out on Saturday, September 25.
