CRG Signs Alessio Profeta

Alessio Profeta has signed to be part of the CRG-Maxter Official Team for at least the rest of the year. The 14-year old, who has already represented Italy in the new Academy CIK-FIA Trophy, has just started driving for the “all blacks” team in the Open Masters Italian Championship, and will this weekend compete in the KF3 World Cup in Braga (Portugal).

Profeta started driving karts when he was 9 in the Mini 60 category in the Sicilian Regional Championship in 2007. The following year he was the runner-up, then made his debut in KF3 in the end of season Leotta Trophy (2nd place). In 2009, Profeta took part in two races of the Regional Championship, winning both of them; he then won the Ayrton Senna Trophy, the Pagliuca Trophy in Sarno (Italy). He also took part in the Open Masters, getting good results.

The young Sicilian driver managed to get good results at international level too, gaining the qualification for the European Championship of Sosnova (Czech Republic), for the KF3 European Championship of Zuera in Spain and for the KF3 World Cup of Sarno (Italy). He won the Leotta Trophy at the end of the season.

In 2010 Profeta took part again in the Open Masters with excellent results and several wins in the heats; he achieved wins in the Regional Championships of Apulia and Campania; he gained the qualification for the European selection of Wackersdorf (Germany) and took part in the European final of Genk (Belgium).

He raced in the Academy Trophy of Wackersdorf and Alcaniz (Spain), and will take part in the third and last event of the trophy in Val D’Argenton (France) on 3rd October. In his end of season schedule there are as well the Trofeo delle Industrie (7th November), the Nations Cup of the WSK (28th November) and, finally, the Leotta Trophy (on the Sicilian tracks of Triscina, Favara and Vittoria) In 2011 he should shift to KF2, always for the colours of CRG Official Team.
