Greenwood Wins Southern Star Series Round 4

press release

The Motul supported Doyle’s Racing Kartsport Clubman Heavy driver, James Greenwood was victorious at Warwick last weekend in Round 4 of the 5 Round 2010 Southern Star Karting Series.

Young Greenwood and his teammate Brendan Nelson were strong in Clubman Heavy class all weekend, as they have been throughout the Series so far.

In this weekend’s racing, Greenwood finished 2nd in both Heats and won both the hard fought PreFinal and the Final. Nelson finished 3rd in both Heats and 2nd in the PreFinal right behind James. Unfortunately an incident and crash in the Final resulted in a DNF for Nelson.

“I felt bad that Brendan crashed out and got hurt today in the Final race of the weekend,” said Greenwood.  “We were enjoying some of the closest racing we’ve had this year on the new Warwick extended track.  The new layout really suited our Harrington Doyle Monaco Karts and we were happy to be getting in some tough racing ahead of the 2010 Qld Closed State Championships that will be held here later this month.  It’s great to be on the top step of podium again and this result should bump me up in the Series Points.”

Greenwood (108) in fact now leads the Series Points table by a handful of points from Jamie Newnham (99), Peter Bossons (91), DRK Team mate Brendan Nelson (87) and Klinton Hancey (72).

The Doyle’s Racing Kartsport Team next races at Warwick on 25th and 26th September, 2010 in the Queensland Closed State Championships.
