Clean Sweeps At Wollongong

There were a total of eight drivers that were able to walk away with clean sweeps in their respective class last Saturday (September 25) at Wollongong City Raceway during the seventh round of the Saturday Night Kart Series.

The eight drivers that were lucky enough to go through the race meeting with the perfect scorecard included Jonathon Gauci (Junior National) who defeated Ryan Suter and Thomas Miotto in the final; Chad Horsley (TAG Red Light) who came out on top in the final ahead of Aaron Cogger and Jack Bennett; Shane Tate (TAG Super Heavy) who downed Mark Kerr and Brett Bamfield in the final; Rod Henry-Smith (TAG 100) who outpaced Michael Bartley and Barry Woods in the final; Drew Friend (Midgets) who defeated the Woods brothers Locke and Darian in the final; Kyle Henry-Smith (Junior Clubman) who finished ahead in the final of Dean Henry-Smith and Reanna Tate; Ryan Suter (Junior National) came out on top over Luke Oppio in the final and Leigh Wright (100cc Performance) who proved too strong for Justin Wills and Grant Cook in the final.

In the other classes, where the drivers were unable to achieve clean sweeps of their respective classes, the finals resulted in victories being shared between Dean Leek (TAG Red Heavy) who downed Craig Deans and Bruce Allan, Glen Quinlan (TAG Over 50s) who managed to defeat Darcy Cox and John Gill, Jacque Isarin (Rookies) who defeated Benito Montalbano and Daniel Cassar, John McMaster (Clubman Light) who outpaced Nick Kellie and Chad Horsley, Dean Starling (Open Performance) who finished ahead of Daniel Orsini and Michael Pesce, and Ben Jeffrey (Clubman Heavy) who finished on top ahead of Adam Jepson and Daniel Eltoft.

The eighth round of the Saturday Night Series is to be fought out back at Wollongong City Raceway on Saturday, October 30.
