Entry Now Open For The Wall-e Enduro

Entries are now open for Melbourne’s annual end-of-year endurance race at the Port Melbourne Karting Complex (Todd Road) on Saturday, December 11.

As per last year, the main event is a 4.5hr 2-driver race for TaG karts. There will also be a 1-hour enduro for Juniors (National class @ 130kg) and a 30 lap Pro Clubman race (@150kg).

The meeting gives karters the chance to run clockwise and utilise the 1004m circuit with the tight infield.

Event organiser Matt Wall says that this year will not be an invitation only event (in previous years, the senior enduro was ‘invitation only’. Wall would organise a host of star race car drivers to join in the fun with some of the significant names in karting. However, organising V8 drivers with their complex schedules and last minute cancellations was proving frustrating).

“This year it’s open entry” he informed KartSportNews. “The first 45 teams to pay their entry will be accepted. We’ll also take some reserves in case teams pull out at the last minute.”

With this open entry policy, things are sure to turn more serious on the race track...

The meeting is a one-day event, though the track is open for scheduled practice on the Friday. Enquiries to Matt Wall -  mwallie15@yahoo.com.au
