Invercargill's Track Extension Sealed

press release

Work is progressing well on KartSport Southland's track extension programme at its Macaulay Ford Kart Raceway at Invercargill's Sandy Point Domain, with sealing completed and only some kerbing work to go before the new section of track can be used.

"That's right," says club spokesperson Daryl Shuttleworth, " Stage 2 of our redevelopment is all but completed, the new section has been sealed and we are just giving it a chance to bleed before we can get back on it. The addition looks great; hard, fast and a massive improvement on what was there before."

Shuttleworth says that the new pit area has also been flattened and planted in grass so it too will be ready and looking great in no time.

Stage 3, meanwhile, is about to take place with new flag points, bump bags and a brand new clubrooms right beside the track.

The club would like to thank Arrow International for undertaking the management of this project, and club members Wayne Dimmock and Leith Swinney for the massive commitment they have given towards the project.

The club will also soon be making a major announcement regarding naming sponsor of the 2011 Kartsport New Zealand Sprint Championships being held in Invercargill over the Easter 2011 long weekend.
