Aussies In Italy For Rotax World Final

from Ian Black in Italy

The Australian Team has arrived in Italy and are ready to go.

Tuesday morning each driver will be allocated their brand new kart and will have the afternoon to fit their seat and put the finishing touches on their kart, whilst tomorrow night everyone is invited to the Welcome Party to officially open the event.

There is no on track action until Wednesday which will be the first day of practice.

252 drivers in total are competing at this event from all over the globe and this year Australia has a record number of drivers with ten in total ready to take on the world.

Each driver is given a brand new kart and engine package along with everything they need to compete for the weekend - fuel, oil, tyres including wets, trolley, tools etc - all absolutely free of charge.

The regulations at this event are extremely tightly controlled with nobody allowed to make any major changes to the equipment that is supplied. There is no changing axles or wheel hubs etc; you can only make setup adjustments to the gear that has been supplied to you making it a very level playing field for everyone.

This year the chassis partners for the event are SODI, CRG and HAASE so each driver will be driving karts from these world class suppliers and of course powered by Rotax!!!

"What makes this event unique is that it is not open to anyone who wants to compete or open to those with the big cheque book. You have to earn the right to be invited to attend the event. So here this weekend is the best of the best Rotax drivers from all over the World. The winner of this event knows that he or she really is the World Champion" said Ian Black of IKD.
