Six Years of CRG At Rotax World Final

The International Circuit La Conca of Muro Leccese was the venue of one of the most beautiful kart races at world level: the “Grand Finals 2010” of the Rotax Max Challenge, with entrants coming from all the five continents. An incredible success of entries which allowed 252 drivers coming from 62 countries to enjoy the exceptional qualities of the southern Italy track. This success is the direct consequence of the great popularity of the Rotax Max Challenge, known all over the world and confirmed by this eleventh annual meeting that, since 2000, has been taking place with growing success.

For the sixth year in a row, CRG was among the major partners of the event, supplying the chassis to the drivers of the Senior Max and DD2 categories, with the great satisfaction of all the participants for the Italian equipment competiveness expressed on the southern Italian track. The model used for the Senior Max was the “Black Star 125 Max”; for the DD2 the “Dark Rider DD2”. On the whole there were four categories on the track: besides the “CRG categories” there were the Junior Max (with Sodi chassis) and the DD2 Masters for drivers over 32 years of age (Haase chassis).
Competiveness levels on the track were at their top in all the four categories, with breathtaking finals fought inch by inch. In the Junior Max, after a gripping arrival, the win in the category went to the Dutch driver Jordi Van Moorsel thanks to the Estonian Martin Rump’s disqualification for a technical problem (nonstandard seat mounts). The other Dutch Joel Affolter and the Australian Pierce Lehane placed second and third respectively.
In the Senior Max the success was conquered by the Southern African Caleb Williams after a fight for the win which involved five drivers! The other two steps of the podium were occupied by the New Zealander Joshua Hart and the Austrian Ferenc Kancsar.

In the DD2 the win was achieved by the Canadian Daniel Morad, who won arriving just ahead of the Belgian Maik Barten while the New Zealander Matthew Hamilton placed third.
In the DD2 Masters success for the Canadian Scott Campbell ahead of the Dutch Dennis Kroes and the Swedish Martin Victorsson. The Nations Cup title was conquered by Spain with Estonia and Australia on the second and third step of the podium.
Giancarlo Tinini, CRG SpA Chairman: “Once again the Rotax Grand Finals was a great event. This is the sixth time we take part in the event and I have seen how the championship has been improving year after year. Everybody liked the It very much, also those who saw for the first time this kind of event. Many people were skeptical about it, but once they had the occasion to come in contact with the Rotax Grand Finals they were astonished. The organization was of great level and the races were absolutely gripping thanks to the great balance between the drivers. The gap between the first and the last driver was always very narrow. The kart is easy to drive and we never had a broken down kart in the middle of the track, only in case of particular accident. And the Rotax engines, as usual, showed a great reliability.”
