Harrison: King Of Queensland Outlaws

press release

Since starting off in Speedway Karts less than five years ago, Anthony Harrison has achieved quite a lot of success in a short space of time and just recently he picked up yet another accolade after he took out the Queensland Title for the Outlaw class at Gatton Speedway.

The 17-year-old drove to a convincing victory in the final for the Outlaw class and he also achieved another good result on the night when he finished in third place on the podium in the final for the Clubman Modified class.

Up against some of the best Outlaw class drivers in the country, Harrison achieved consistent results throughout his qualifying heat races and he then went out in Queensland Title deciding final and drove away from his rivals. Although in the closing stages he had a bit of a scare when a late caution bunched up the field for the run home to the chequered flag, Harrison still managed to fend off his challenges and score a solid victory.

“The Outlaws are the premier class within Speedway Karting and anytime that you can come away with a victory in one of the blue-ribbon events is a big achievement, especially considering that the competition is so fierce,” Harrison commented.

“In last year’s Queensland Title in the Clubman Modified class I ended up finishing in third and this time around I let two other competitors get too far in front of me. I left it too long to regain that ground that I had lost and at the drop of chequered flag it was a very close finish and third being the best I could do.”

After his Queensland Title success, Harrison now has over the past five years since beginning in Speedway Karting achieved a total of 11 podium finishes at Junior and Senior level in both National and State Title events. Also, Harrison has had two of his team-mates finish with seven podium finishes at the Senior level.

Harrison would like to thank Ben from DKS Race Engines, Custom Decals, Aussie Trackwear, and all of his crew and family for all their ongoing support.
