Australia Gets 10 Places For 2011 Rotax World Final

Ten Australian karters will be invited to the 2011 Rotax Grand Finals in the United Arab Emirates town of Al Ain (near Dubai) next year.

"It is fantastic news that 10 Australians will be given the opportunity to compete again in 2011" said Ian Black from IKD.

"The number of seats offered to us is recognition by BRP-Powertrain of Australia’s ability and shows that we are a very competitive country at this event. The Rotax Grand Finals are truly an unrivaled and fiercely contested meeting and with over 200 drivers from over 60 countries, it really is the Olympics of Karting".

"Australia is an important market for us" said Robert Gumpenberger (pictured, right) of BRP-Powertrain. "Australian drivers have proven over the years to be very competitive and I always like to see them do well at this event. Rotax is proud to show our appreciation to Australia for their support and we will be pleased to invite 10 Australians to Al Ain next year to chase their dream and hopefully be crowned the Worlds best Rotax driver."
