KZ2
Two IAME drivers are on the starting grid of the shifter category. Van Der Burgt (Maddox/Parilla) is constant throughout the weekend, finishing the finals in 11th place. Negro (DR/Parilla) is very fast in the heats and picks up a 3rd place, while he finishes 9th in the prefinal. In the final, a contact from behind damages his rear bumper and he then has to withdraw following a problem with the chain.

KF2
4 Parilla drivers in the finals. Giovinazzi (Top Kart/Parilla) is very fast in the heats: 5th, 4th and 1st and clocks the best lap time in all three. He starts 5th in the pre-final and finishes in an excellent 3rd place after battling some laps for the first place. In the final he is unfortunately forced to retire following an incident.

Cucco (Birel/Parilla) does well in the heats (4th, 12th and 17th ) and in the pre-final (13th), but some contacts reduce him back in the final (24th). In front of him is Van Der Raad (Zanardi/Parilla), who comes through from the back of the field (he was 31st at the start). Orcic (Zanardi/Parilla) is unlucky and is forced to retire.

KF3
An imposing presence of 15 IAME drivers; 5 of them are in the first 12 places of the ranking. The best performance comes from Nielsen (DR/Parilla): he is unlucky in two heats (16th and 23rd ) but very fast in the other two (4th and 6th with a best lap time too), in the pre-final he comes back from 25th place to finish in 15th place and in the final he crosses the finish line in a good 4th place.

Van Meever (Maddox/ Parilla) also does well in the pre-final, starting in 21st place and finishing in 9th place. Vita (DR/Parilla) is 10th after being author of the “best lap time” in one heat and getting an excellent 7th place in the pre-final. Lavelli (Top Kart/Parilla) has problems in the heats, but in the pre-final he comes back from 34th to 11th place and confirms this position in the final too.

Stupenkov (Gillard/Parilla) finishes 12th in the final after a good recovery (24th in the pre-final). Worth of mention are also Martinez (Top Kart/Parilla), who clocked the best lap time in the pre-final despite finishing in 26th place, and Di Folco (Zanardi/Parilla) making his debut in an international competition and finishing with a good 22nd place.

60 MINI
6 Parilla drivers in the final. Baiz (Birel/Parilla) is extremely fast. He finishes 6th in the heats, twice 1st and once 17th (due to a contact) and he clocks the fastest lap time in two of them.

In the pre-final he starts 6th and finishes 10th, clocking once again the fastest lap time, and he improves his performance in the final: he is 2nd, but is forced to finish 4th after a contact on the very last corner. Alex (Tony Kart/Parilla) also does well, clocking a best lap time and reaching an 8th place on the grid in the pre-final; a few contacts in the final puts him back to 17th place.

Mazzola (Top Kart/Parilla) and Montefusco (Parolin/Parilla) are both unlucky and are forced to retire in the final. Margiotta (Intrepid/Parilla) and Saganas (Tecno/Parilla) finished respectively 26th and 28th.

THE COMMENT:
Andrea Bossaglia comments: “We would definitely have bet on achieving better results, but races are always unpredictable. However we had the chance to successfully test part of the material intended for next year, even if it was installed on actual engines. From this point of view, the race in Muro Leccese has given us a very important contribution”.

The most powerful and reliable IAME engine is without a double the REEDSTER 2
There are 3 versions of this engine: KF3, KF2 and SKF. The differences lie in the volume of the combustion chamber, the carburettor, the exhaust system, the presence of a power valve and a limiter: that is set slashing from 14.000 rpm for the KF3 to 16.000 rpm for SKF. The technical new versus the previous homologation regard the cooling system, the power valve and the crankcase with horizontal reed valve group. These innovations have allowed great performance especially at low RPMs, producing a wider power curve, and therefore better power and ease of use.
