Saturdays pre finals saw some fantastic results; Adam Lindstrom took a commanding victory in Rotax Light so too Scott Taylor in Leopard Heavy aboard his M92. Alex Baker showed terrific speed in Clubman Light and would line up on the front row for Sundays final event.

Sunday was another successful day with great showings from all DR Kart drivers. A fantastic display of talent and speed saw some nail biting finishes where DR Kart fell just short of Victory. Scott Taylor led early stages of the Leopard Heavy final which became a close battle, finally crossing the line in 3rd position. Scott was very happy to win the pre final and achieve 3rd place in a class that he usually doesn’t compete in.

Adam Lindstrom in Rotax Light proved to be the fastest Rotax pilot over the weekend, taking a commanding win in heat two and the pre final. The final was a close battle that could have seen the victory fall each way, Adam crossed the line just short of victory. A fantastic result up against the very best of Rotax competition.

In the Clubman Light class SA drivers Aaron Wilamowski and Alex Baker were very fast aboard their Sportsmax clubman chassis. Aaron unfortunately was caught up in an early race incident in the final and was unable to capiltise on his 5th place in qualifying. Alex Baker show just why he will be a forced to be reckoned with in 2011, Alex progressed very well through the weekend and would finish second in the pre final. Alex challenged for the lead during the final before a last lap tangle for first position would force Alex off the circuit and eventually cross the line in 6th position. Alex put on an impressive drive where he consistently lapped the fastest on track.

Another notable mention goes to David Brewer Snr and Errol Hussian in Over 40’s Clubman. David finished a terrific 5th place in the final, wile Errol put in a great showing all weekend until a race ending incident early in the final.

Although there was no state championships won, DR Racing Kart’s campaign at the SA Open was fantastic and a perfect display of how well the chassis are performing. It has been such a short period of time since first introduced into Australia. No doubt DR Kart has proved its intensions and capability of becoming a dominant force.

DR Racing Karts Australian Distributer Jordie Lindstrom: “We have achieved so much in a short period of time, all our drivers are performing very well and our chassis are exceptional. We are very much looking forward to 2011 and introducing our Race Team into the CIK Stars of Karting series and national events, we will work heavily in maximizing our knowledge of our chassis to provide the best information and package to every DR Kart customer, we value every driver like our own and this service is certainly showing through our on track results, more to come no doubt”.
