Harrington Doyle Announce 2011 Driver Lineup

press release

Harrington Doyle Racing (HDR) has announced that they have parted ways with 19yo Brendan Nelson after their 2nd year of competition together.  The Yatala based development motorsport Team made the announcement to its Team Partners mid last week, as it was working to finalise Team plans for the upcoming 2011 Calendar Season.

“Brendan has advised HDR that he is unable to offer us his full commitment in the New Year, as he has chosen to pursue a broader racing calendar,” said HDR Team principal, Craig Doyle.  “As a result, we’ve reached a mutual decision, to make a change in our line up.  Whilst this is somewhat sad for both of us, Harrington Doyle Racing as a development Team has always been premised on supporting promising young motorsport talent, with a view to future migration.  We wish Brendan, Monica, Larry & Jenny every success with their bigger racing plans in 2011,” said Doyle.

Focusing on recent positive initiatives, Doyle was proud of the continuance of all current HDR Team Partners into 2011, including Orrcon Steel, Inox, X-treme Racing Apparel, Pacific Rim Trading and All Engine Parts.com.au; and also the welcomed new Partner additions of ENTEGY, a design and web development company and well known Oil brand – Motul to the Team.

“We’ve been very busy in recent weeks with the help of Terry Cobb at TezFX Designs to create a new livery that incorporates all of our Team Partners branding for next year.  Terry’s fresh new concepts have been welcomed and approved by our Partners.  They will soon flow on to other parts of the Team’s presentation in coming weeks,” said Doyle.  “Wanting to further support our Team’s brand new look, X-treme Racing Apparel has also custom made us blue & green race wear, including new suits, boots and gloves.  The blue / green theme will certainly stand out next year,” said Doyle.

“We’re exceptionally pleased this week to also make the important announcement that 11yo Gympie Kart driver; Harrison Oddie will join our Team.  He’s earned an excellent 4th placing in the 2010 Yamaha SL World Karting Challenge in Malaysia recently and the Oddie Family will be a great new element of our Team.  The RV Engines powered Rookie will make a step up next season from the Midget class.  He will Team up at HDR with 12yo Junior National driver Callum Walker, 22yo Clubman driver James Greenwood and 22yo Clubman driver Terry Cobb to form a pretty strong Team,” said Doyle.

Both James Greenwood and Callum Walker have already registered for the Yamaha East Coat Titles as part of the 5 round 2011 CIK Stars of Karting Series.  Terry Cobb is working to finalise his entry to strengthen the HDR Yamaha Clubman presence in the 2011 national Series.  Harrison will run his own local Rookie program, but will join the other boys in their HDR assault on the Supercheap Auto Kart Series and the Southern Star Series, as well as other various Eastern Seaboard Titles and blue ribbon events throughout the year.

“We’re very happy with the Team that we’ve assembled for 2011 and cannot wait to hit the track again,” HDR Team principal Craig Doyle said.  “The sport has taken some significant leaps forward over the last 12 months and we’re happy to be part of that.  I think that our driver line-up will serve us well, it’s very strong right across the board and it’s great that we can welcome Terry back to the sport.”
