Yarwood Jumps To Exprit
William Yarwood will race the new Exprit kart next year. International Karting Distributors (IKD, the importers of the Exprit kart) announced that the Queenslander will be the Brand Ambassador for Exprit in 2011.
A long time Arrow campaigner, Yarwood will compete aboard the Italian chassis at the Rotax Nationals, Rotax Pro Tour, various state championships and the CIK Stars of Karting series.
As part of his role as Brand Ambassador, William will provide technical assistance to Exprit drivers, assist them with their set-up, as well as offer his many years of driver knowledge to help Exprit drivers harness the full potential of their new kart.
Yarwood is excited about this new venture and his desire to not only be competitive but to also support fellow drivers will be a winning formula for anyone involved.
“I am excited and honored to take on the new role with Exprit karts and IKD" he said. "Exprit is a young vibrant brand and will bring about change to the way we go racing in Australia.
"The decision to change brands was not an easy one for me, especially when Arrow have served me so well in the past. I gained third in the Rotax World titles, nine National Titles and 35 of my 39 State Titles in Arrow karts, so I am very grateful to the guys at DPE."
The Exprit karts are identical in material, shape and components to the Tony Kart and Kosmic kart so Australia is no stranger to the design.
“I think its important for us to establish a strong presence in the market with our new Exprit karts and William’s involvement will be incremental in helping us achieve that" commented Ian Black from IKD.
“Knowing that we can offer drivers the full support they need at the track and the technical knowledge to get their set-up right gives me confidence in what we are trying to achieve.”
Exprit karts arrive in Australia in January and you can see them in action when William takes to the track at the first Pro Tour at Todd Road on 28/29/30 January. IKD will also import OTK spare parts to fully complement the Exprit karts.
