Junior Top Guns 2012

Oakleigh's annual Junior Top Guns summer series is on again next January - but after Mother Nature showed her hand last year, the club has decided to stick with the altered format that was forced on them last time.

"Due to the success of having the Top Guns run on Friday and Saturday in 2011, we will again be doing this" club President Adam Bourke informed KartSportNews.

The two rounds of the event will run on Friday January 20 and Saturday January 21.

Classes will be, Cadets, Rookies, JNL C&P, JNL, JNH C&P, JNH, Junior Clubman (Yamaha S motors only) and JMAX.

Practice will be from 12-midday to 4pm on both days. Racing will start around 5pm.

Junior Racing Development, one of Australia’s leading Formula Vee racing teams, is once again throwing its support behind the future stars of Australian motor sport. For the third year running, JRD is sponsoring Junior Top Guns and are putting up the fantastic prize of a test in one of the team's championship winning Sabre 02s.

Further prizes include a Midget/Rookie chassis (from Arrow and OGKRC) and a Yamaha engine for Junior Clubman.

The selection process for the test drive is different to previous years: all competitors who will be 15 years of age at June 30 2012 are invited to enter. Interested competitors must pre register via the JRD web site www.juniorracing.com.au and compete over the two nights that constitute the series to be eligible.

Registrations are open so head to the team's site and complete the registration form!
