Entry Now Open for Fujitsu Cool Driver Program

Applications are now open for the 2011 Fujitsu ‘Cool’ Driver Program.

Seven karters will be chosen (one from each state) to receive funding for their 2011 race campaigns, and the best performing karter will receive an opportunity to test with a National Formula Ford team.

fujitsu young driver development karters and formula ford“The initial response to the program has been very encouraging" program director Chris Jewell informed KartSportNews.

"From the recent website monitoring stats I’ve seen, I’m really looking forward to seeing the number and quality of the applicants wanting to become part of this exciting new initiative"

"The Fujitsu 'Cool Driver' Program evaluation phase will be exhaustive, but I’m sure the final eleven candidates (7 karters, 4 Formula Forders) will enjoy the added financial and career support, while representing the program exceptionally well.”

Applications will close at midnight on January 26 (Australia Day ... not by coincidence). The application form (for karters - there is an alternative one for Formula Ford competitors) can be found HERE.

Jewell said that, while he has received interest from every state and territory of Australia, plus NZ, USA, China, Hong Kong, England, Germany, France, India and even Kazakhstan(!), the program was for Australians only.
