Gold Coast-based Lane Moore and his team will start their trans-Tasman campaign this weekend as they jet over to New Zealand to compete in the 'Kart n the Dark' and round 1 of the New Zealand Rotax Max Challenge.

On board to assist him in his Aussie and New Zealand assault is karting mentor, Gerry Brookes of Turn 1 Motorsport. Gerry has mentored some of the very best in the sport and is committed to getting the best results from equipment and drivers for Team Moore brothers Trent and Lane Moore.

This weekend’s racing at the 'Kart n the Dark' is essential race prep for Lane and his team as he prepares for the upcoming Aussie race season and the New Zealand Rotax Nationals held over Easter.

The event organiser, Kartsport Manawatu, is thrilled to inject some international racing into the event and aims to continue the tradition with more Aussie drivers supported to compete at the event in future.

In Rotax Heavy Lane will be pitted against top New Zealand drivers including Brendon Hart, Hamish Cross, Shane Hodgson and top speedway / kart driver Steve Currie.

Whilst in New Zealand they’ll be able to catch up with other leading Intrepid drivers Josh Hart (Rotax Light) and Brendon Hart and Daniel Kinsman (Rotax Light).

It will be a busy year for Lane, competing in Australia at the Rotax Pro Tour stops, Queensland State and National Titles in Rotax Heavy.

Intrepid Australia and Lascom Holdings (importer of Intrepid in New Zealand) will be giving support to Lane throughout the year.

Brother Trent is keeping his campaign in Australia with a shift to DD2 class for Rotax Pro Tour rounds and will compete in Rotax Heavy in the local Rotax events, state and national titles.
