Double Victory for Team Adrenaline at SA’s FSC Opener

press release

TeamAdrenaline and DR Racing Karts SA were once again successful, this time at the opening round of the South Australian Festival State Cup Series at the Monarto karting complex approximately an hour South East of Adelaide.

With good entry numbers in the majority of fields, Team Adrenaline were competing in five classes with two of the team’s drivers triumphant while others featured on the podium at the event contested on Sunday February 20th with racing run in the reverse direction.

Clubman Heavy saw a well-deserved one-two for the team however it was Errol Hussein who walked away victorious over teammate Leigh Cocker. Cocker was favourite going into the event but a DNF in heat one proved costly. The Team Adrenaline duo battled intensely for the remaining races providing a great spectacle with Errol “the pocket rocket” Hussein and the team pleased with his result.

A notable mention must go to James McLean, who after a lengthy break showed some great speed at times and with more seat time will see him back up the front where he belongs. David Brewer also showed some form in the last 2 races netting reasonable results and will be right there come next meeting.

Sportsman 125 Lightwas the other class to net Team Adrenaline a win however with 2 debutants this class was always expected to be a real hard task especially with such a big field. In his come back race, David Franze was keen to prove otherwise leading from the front like he had never left while Alex Baker proved why he is a local Clubman Light hot shot with mid pack start to finish third.

Local leopard specialist Jedd Stojackovic showed the boys how it was done in the second heat but once again Franze raced well to come from the rear to finish second. Franze’s M92 DR chassis proved to be the perfect weapon of choice in heat three with a win and Baker again third - which is where the boys finished over-all for the weekend.

Clubman Over 40's was the race to watch as the “gentlemen” of our sport took know prisoners however with David Brewer suffering a DNF in heat 1 and nearly taking out teammate Errol Hussein in the process everyone knew it was going to be a long day!

Hussein bounced back to be one of the quickest and bagged good results in the remaining heats to finish 3rd over-all a mere 1 point behind.

Junior Performance saw Josh Angus again proves his consistency aboard his DR Sports Max chassis and despite suffering from an engine gremlin all day he still managed to finish in third place. This was a great effort considering the circumstances and Angus will certainly be one to watch in the near future!

Clubman Lightsaw Peter Zacaria debut his DR Sports Max chassis and he too showed glimpses of speed but in a star studded field it was always going to be tough! Andrew Harpas is starting to show some consistency under the guidance of Leigh Cocker, which is promising for the very near future. Team Adrenaline looks forward to seeing both these boys start to move up the grid real soon.

Team Adrenaline would also like to thank all drivers and pit crew for their efforts in making it such a great weekend and look forward to their next event. Good luck also to team drivers Scott Taylor and Alex Baker who will also start their CIK Stars of Karting assault this weekend at Ipswich in Queensland.
