Aussies In Florida - Day 1

News from David Sera as he and Adrian Lazarro tackle the 2nd round of the Florida Winter Tour at West Palm Beach on weekend:

"First day has been run. The straight here is ridiculous, we are on full throttle for 15 seconds!

"I started out of P2 for the pre final, and after taking the lead, was overtaken by 4 karts down the straight which dropped me back to fifth. I made a last corner move on fourth position, but then let him go past to give myself an inside starting position for the final.

"On the start line of the final, I was getting pushed entering turn one, and in the braking area I spun around due to the contact. I ended up over 100 metres behind the last kart (34th position) and made my way to 6th at the finish. The driver in fifth got dropped back a few positions for contact of karts which moved me up to fifth at the end.

"I lost ground on the leader in the championship as he won the race, but with me starting on pole position today, hopefully I can make some ground up.

"Adrian (Juniors) didnt have as much luck, as he had to start 37th in the Last Chance Qualifier after losing his nosecone on the opening lap of qualifying.

"In a spirited drive, Adrian made his way to 7th position at the end of the 8 lap race, to fall short by one position. He set the fastest lap by over 3 tenths of a second, and to add further insult the driver who finished first in the LCQ finished the pre final in 7th.
