Tasmanian Statewide Series, Round 2

The Southern Tasmanian Kart Club's Round 2 of the Tassie State Wide Series was held last weekend.
Saturday's practice encountered heavy rain nearly all day with half the entrants leaving their karts clean and dry in the trailers, awaiting Sunday's dry weather!

It was freezing cold with a light February snow on the mountain in Hobart. The Wets were on standby all day but only a couple of heats rained out.
Due to an unfortunate technical failure on Sunday morning with the timing system down, we were unable to run qualifying. This was quite an upset for a lot of drivers who now had to start at the back and work their way through the pack, but it produced a good show for the heat races.
Overall it was a great weekend of racing and we'll see everybody at Round 3 in Smithton!

Above: Tas TaG had a decent field of karts with Jack Dimsey killing everyone all weekend. He had his Rotax on MG Yellows on song at his home track after not racing there for over 2 years!
