Wright Takes Hard Charger Award

press release

Tony Kart driver Aidan Wright has taken out the Racer Inc. Hard Charger Award for Round One of the 2011 CIK Stars of Karting Series.

Wright gained 14 spots after charging his way from the back of the 22-kart grid in the Pro Light Final to finish eighth in the final 25-lap main event to win a merchandise pack provided by Racer Inc.

"I went underweight by 100 grams in the first final because we changed the set-up of the kart which also dropped some weight off, so the only way from there was forwards," said Wright.

"I had to salvage what I could from there, so I made sure I had my Racer sticker on the kart which gave me more incentive to charge through the field.

"It was pleasing to get up there and was even more encouraging to know I had the pace. When you know there is a Hard Charger Award it gives you a little bit more of an incentive."

Paul Rietdyk of Racer Inc. is delighted to be associated with Australia’s elite karting series as the Official Merchandise supplier and hear about the hype regarding the hard charger award.

"The CIK Stars of Karting Series has really developed into a great event over the past couple of years and we're delighted to be joining forces as the official merchandise supplier," said Rietdyk.

"The Hard Charger Award was designed to provide an extra incentive for the drivers to charge their way through the field and provide some extra excitement for the spectators."

Also launched last weekend was the 2011 range of official series merchandise with Racer Inc. producing some t-shirts ($30+postage) and hats ($15+postage) on behalf of the series. These t-shirts and hats are available for order by emailing Lee Hanatschek at lee@starsofkarting.com.au

The CIK Stars of Karting Series also welcomed AF Images as the official photographic supplier and Custom Decals as the official signage supplier for the 2011 series at the weekend.
