Frampton To Mix Formula Ford with Rotax Pro Tour

press release

jaymee frampton2011 will see Jaymee Frampton contesting four Formula Ford State Championships rounds with the competitive Listec Race Team.

After a successful year of Karting on the Rotax Pro Tour, Frampton made the intimidating move into the senior catergory of Rotax Light. Quality results in the final round of the Pro Tour at Newcastle and Charity Enduro in Melbourne saw Jaymee’s racing career building momentum. On pace and dicing with current Australian champion Dave Sera and multiple State Champion Josh De Maio, Frampton had everybody at the racetracks attention.

With her karting career heading in the right direction the opportunity to test with Paul Liston and his Championship winning team arose. Fresh from winning the point score for the Fiesta Formula Fords in the New South Wales State series, the chance to drive with the Listec team was alluring.

Jaymee secured her racing deal in January this year, after an impressive test debut at Wakefield Park in Goulburn. Jaymee’s test session started in difficult conditions, the speed of the Formula Ford together with a wet track made it difficult for Jaymee to achieve the times she was after. However, Frampton’s professional driving skills, natural ability and talent didn’t take very long to kick in.  Jaymee’s racing times improved by a whooping 9 seconds from the first session to the last and Jaymee and the Listec Racing Team appeared thrilled with the results.

Later Jaymee said "It was a fantastic experience, I can't thank Paul Liston from Listec race cars enough. I hope I can do more with the Listec Team and the Formula Ford this year!"

Jaymee’s parents John and Vicky Frampton spent the day at the track supporting their daughter and making sure everything was in order for a successful day. John Frampton said, “The day went off better than expected! Considering that the first two session were in the wet, but I was very impressed by the way Jaymee had improved by the end of the day".

Jaymee’s mum Vicky added, “Paul and the team were terrific, it was a great day, Jaymee learnt so much from Paul & Alan. I thought I was nervous watching her in the Rotax.... watching her in the Listec car raised the nerve level somewhat!"

So what does the future hold for this enthusiastic, determined, motivated and ambitious young driver?
Jaymee now plans to continue her Kart racing, this year in particular competing at all rounds of the Pro Tour and State Championships. She has successfully secured a sponsorship deal and will now compete in three rounds of the Victorian State Formula Ford championship as well as one round of the NSW State Formula Ford championship.

All though it is still early days for Jaymee Frampton and her racing career, she is definitely a young racer to be watched in the future.
